A brave veterinarian stopped traffic and risked it all to rescue a trembling dog left alone on the highway.
Roads are very dangerous places for any animal. People often drive at high speeds, which is why a dog was in a life-threatening situation. Her life was in danger, but a veterinarian who witnessed the scene couldn’t ignore what was happening.
The incident occurred on a highway in Bucharest, Romania. Ovidiu was driving along the stretch of road normally when, by chance, he saw something strange on the side of the road. At first, the man didn’t recognize what it was, but as he got closer, he realized the small, moving object was a scared little dog.
Ovidiu parked his vehicle and tried to approach cautiously, fearing that his approach would intimidate the dog, who was trembling with fear , and cause it to flee in the middle of the highway.
Fortunately, she was a fairly docile dog who, far from wanting to run away, seemed to be pleading for help with her anxious eyes and trembling body.
In the video, the man is seen walking stealthily as cars pass from one end of the highway to the other. The noise frightens the dog, who appears to have been abandoned there.
The man bends down and begins to caress her before taking her in his arms and carrying her away unharmed.
“The hardest part was gaining her trust when I approached her. The last thing I wanted was for her to get scared and run into traffic. Luckily, I managed to approach her easily. She’s a really sweet little dog,” the man said.
For the veterinarian, the moment was quite significant, as a life was in danger. But beyond that, Ovidiu maintains the suspicion that the dog had been left on the highway by its owners.
“She must have been abandoned right next to the highway, and when she tried to cross, she must have been too scared to make it to the other side.”
Once the dog was in the vet’s arms, he decided to take her home with him. Who better to take care of her than himself?
The man examined her and realized that she was in excellent health, that she was just a scared puppy, but that her fear would disappear in a matter of days with his care and affection.
Now the shivering furry friend lives with Ovidiu, who decided to name her Berta. Although she seemed to miss her old family at first, she’s completely settled into her new home, and we’re sure she’ll be happy for life this time around.
